FALL SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED: WILDCATS READY TO RUN IN BOTH FIFTEENS AND SEVENS

Kyle Rogers '18 and Hector Ramirez '17 hope to use the Fall to build in both Fifteens and Sevens.

Sept 2- Arizona has announced their Fall schedule today, with both Fifteens and Sevens lined up for the Wildcats this Fall semester.

In Fifteens, the Wildcats will step up their workload this Fall, with their Junior Varsity and Developmental sides seeing the majority of the action. Junior Varsity opens October 1st with Grand Canyon University JV, traveling to take on the Lopes before returning home to take on Arizona State University JV the following weekend. For the first time in recent history, Arizona will take on Northern Arizona University, with the Parents' Weekend match on Friday night capping a three-week stretch for developing players. "These will be hugely beneficial matches for these players, many of whom are young and looking to work their way into the Varsity pool" said Head Coach Sean Duffy.

Arizona Developmental Side starts their inaugural season in the Rio Grande Rugby Union September 10th, traveling to UTEP to take on the Miners. The third side will then return to action October 8th, hosting Arizona State Academy side before a matchup with Northern Arizona JV October 14th. The Wildcats' initial foray into Fall Division II action concludes November 5th as they host New Mexico State. "This is an exciting time for our program, as we have nearly 100 players and this additional slate of matches will provide invaluable playing time for these players" said Duffy.

In Sevens, Arizona once again competes in two tournaments, but with a distinct change in this year's lineup. October 22-23 the Wildcats will travel to the Bay Area, competing in the San Francisco Golden Gate West Coast Sevens at Treasure Island. After a two week break, Arizona will then host the PAC Rugby Sevens Championship at Pima County Kino Sports Complex November 12-13. In addition, the program will launch a collegiate bracket at the tournament, with Arizona JV Sevens competing.

The Fall culminates with the 2nd Annual Red-Blue Game on Friday November 18th, with more details still to come on festivities surrounding the preseason conclusion. Last year's Red-Blue Game featured Honorary Alumni Guest Coaches Mike Veth and Rick Rendon, and a 33-32 victory for Red in the Fall finale. Following the Red-Blue Game, the Wildcats' next action will resume in January as the regular season launches with the start of the new year.
