FORMER WILDCAT IN WORLD CUP SIDE IN SAN FRANCISCO

 

 

 

Thompson made his second Sevens World Cup appearance this past weekend in San Francisco.

Jul 23- The eyes of the world were upon the United States this weekend as the 2018 Sevens World Cup took place San Francisco featuring a former Wildcat in the US Eagles squad in Brett Thompson.

Thompson and the Eagles took center stage at AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants with over 90,000 fans in attendance for the landmark event. The former Wildcat made his second Sevens World Cup appearance for the Eagles having earned selection for the event in 2014 in Moscow. Thompson has also excelled in Fifteens, earning multiple caps and signing a contract with Major League Rugby's San Diego Legion. 

While the USA finished sixth in the event, the appearance of Thompson after overcoming injury was a welcome sight for Wildcat fans as he hopes to continue his success in both formats of the game.
