SDSU PREVIEW: CATS HEAD TO SO CAL TO TAKE ON AZTECS

#11 Arizona vs #19 San Diego State

Saturday February 18

San Diego, CA

1:00 PM

Bronson Teles and Ryan Fitzpatrick look to help the Wildcat Forwards to another strong performance in San Diego.

February 16- Arizona heads west for the start of a three game road stretch this weekend as they take on #19 San Diego State on Saturday. The 11th-ranked Wildcats have named the team that will take on the Aztecs, with few changes from the team that defeated GCU last week 50-12. The Wildcats are led by Kyle Rogers, with the Fullback captaining the side as they seek their fourth straight victory.

The Forwards are unchanged from last week, with the strong front row of Steven Branham, Jake Hedge, and Cody Hunt joined by the second row pairing of Bronson Teles and Vice Captain Sean Coleman. In the back row, two try scorers from last week make up the group as Number Eight Tyler Hansen and Ryan Fitzpatrick get the nod again and join with standout Freshman Zach Heisterkamp to make an athletic trio for the Wildcats.

In the backline, Scrumhalf Matt Rogers comes off a strong performance and joins Anton Grigoriou, with the Freshman from Southern California fresh off a dynamic debut against UCLA two weeks ago. Shane Dempsey and Ben Joseph pair in the centers with Wings Dante Weeks and Ryan Hudson returning to the lineup after being rested last weekend.

The bench features a number of players ready if called upon, as Zach Biggs, Chaz Huntsman, and Kurt Vecchio cover the front row while Sam Peri and Ben Scoular round out the forwards. Three key starters from last week's victory move to the bench in the backs, as Luke Thayer, Jack San Pietro, and Jeremy Fleet provide cover, with Fleet fresh off a three-try performance.

Arizona takes on the Aztecs for the first time in recent history, with the two teams clashing often over the years in the former Southern California Conference. With the Aztecs sporting a good record and impressive recent wins, they are not to be taken lightly. "We are looking forward to taking on a new opponent of sorts and we know alumni from both sides will be happy to see this quality matchup renewed for the next two seasons. SDSU is well coached and disciplined and we're looking forward to it" said Head Coach Sean Duffy.

The match will be webcast, with the broadcast commencing at 1 PM PST here.

Arizona Second XV returns to action as well this weekend, taking on San Diego State Junior Varsity immediately following the varsity match.
