Jan 23- Arizona has announced the side for a rare Friday night match as the Wildcats' 2nd XV hosts Northern Arizona this evening at Clements Field.

The hosts have named a young side, with exciting prospects set to feature for a team looking to bounce back and get back in the win column. They will be led by Scrumhalf Quinn Bevan, with the Oregon native making his debut after a long-term injury. "I speak for everyone when I say how much we are all rooting for Quinn. To come into college with an injury and stay patient with the rehab, then to stay patient with us coaches as we bring him along slowly to avoid setbacks. He's been training well, this is no handout- and we want our captains to be first and foremost good teammates. Can't wait to see him play"  said Director of Rugby Sean Duffy.

Bevan will be joined in the on-field leadership by Openside Flanker Will Barrett, with the industrious young forward impressing with his workrate and growth since August. In the forwards alongside Barrett, Arizona has selected a group of players hungry to put their work into matches. Marcus Harris and Geno McKenna will anchor the front row as the Wildcats look to set the tone up front. In the backline, Bevan's halfback partner will be Jano Jansen van Vuuren, with the South African-born Flyhalf continuing to grow each week on and off the field. "Jano has had quite a week, between training well, crushing the gym, and working with some of our guest coaches this week that made a huge impact" said Duffy. Arizona had the privilege of hosting Morne Steyn, Gideon Stander, and Morgan Naude from South Africa for two days of on-field work and instruction, giving the program a unique perspective into the next level. "Can't say enough how thankful we are to everyone that made that happen, and it was a surreal day watching our goalkickers get some detail from a legend like Morne. Now we need to keep building and apply that" said Duffy.

NAU and Arizona will meet for the second time, with the match in Flagstaff in September going the way of the Wildcats. The match will be free admission for all fans, with gates opening at 5 PM before the 6 PM kickoff. Arizona 1st XV will be back in action next week with a home match up against St. Thomas University at Sitton Field.
