Ben Joseph and the Wildcats seek their sixth straight win in their first ever matchup with LSU.

April 15- Arizona has named the side that will take on LSU in the first round of the D1A Playoffs tomorrow in Baton Rouge.

The team is once again led by Captain & Lock Cesar Davila, with Vice Captain & Flyhalf Kyle Rogers joining him in the leadership group.

In the front row, Dacoda Worth joins mainstays Bryce Mantell and Cam Hudson, with Davila joined by Junior All American Sean Coleman at Lock. In the backrow, Ian Crilly makes his second straight start and joins Ryan Fitzpatrick and Tyler Hansen. Head Coach Sean Duffy pointed to the youth and ability in the backrow as a key point to the Forwards. "For Ian, Ryan, and Tyler this is an exciting weekend as they've each grown so much in the past few months with us. All three are tough, fast, and athletic and that's exactly what you want in your back row."

In the backline, Jonah Eldridge pairs with Rogers at Scrumhalf, while Ian Hause and Shane Dempsey make up the center pairing. On the outside, Ben Joseph, Jack San Pietro, and Wildcat of the Week Adam Wilson round out the team. "This is a group that has really grown together this season, and with last week being an opportunity to get some guys a rest, they look re-charged and ready to go for what we expect will be a tough opponent" said Duffy.

In the reserves, Cody Hunt, Chaz Huntsman, and Kurt Vecchio provide cover in the front row while Jake Janzen does so at Lock. In a 4-4 split, Matt Rogers and Ricky Lindsay join the side after strong performances in last week's 119-0 victory over UC-San Diego with Lou MacLaughlin and Nick Alfaro rounding out the impact reserves.

For the Wildcats, their five straight wins to end the regular season have established momentum that they hope will continue to carry on against the Red River Conference champions. "We are looking forward to our first playoff berth since joining D1A in 2015 and what we expect to be a tough physical team in LSU" said Duffy. In their last run through the playoffs, Arizona advanced to the D1-AA National Championship game in 2014 before being promoted to D1A last seeason. The winner of this contest will take on Utah next week in Salt Lake City in a national quarterfinal, with the final taking place May 7 in Moraga, California on ESPN 2.
