Glendale, CO — Arizona has announced the side that will travel to Glendale, Colorado, for a neutral-site matchup against No. 3 Lindenwood in a highly anticipated top-10 showdown.
The Wildcats will put their undefeated record on the line, with captain Tanner DeMassa leading the side as Arizona looks to close out its fall campaign with another statement performance.
Arizona will make several changes from the side that defeated San Diego State two weeks ago, highlighted by the return of Jack Lister at prop, Aston Gradwick-Light at flanker, and Nick Morgan at outside center. In the second row, Chris Grosse, Alex Kemp, and Oliver Ryan give the Wildcats a talented trio of forwards in the 23 who will look to establish a physical presence and set the tone against a strong Lindenwood side.
In the backline, vice captain Connor McIsaac returns at scrum half, partnering with Saxon Gerstl at fly half. Among the finishers, Will Barrett and Sintu Mjali move into the matchday 23, providing additional options as the Wildcats prepare for a challenging 80 minutes against one of the nation's top programs.
"This is a unique challenge that we're excited for. Meeting a team at a neutral site gives the guys a bit of a simulation for what we expect in postseason environments. We've had a great week, and that's a testament not just to our captains but to the entire squad, including our second XV, who have put in a huge week to help prepare the first team. Lindenwood is a well-coached, physical side, and we're ready to run it back after a good match last year," said Director of Rugby and Head Coach Sean Duffy.
Lindenwood enters the contest with a 9-2 overall record after defeating Davenport 36-17 last week. The Lions defeated Arizona 34-21 in last year's meeting, giving the Wildcats additional motivation as they look to reverse the result in this year's match-up.
There will be no live stream of Saturday's match. Fans are encouraged to follow Arizona Rugby's social media channels for updates and a final score immediately following the contest.
Arizona will close out its fall schedule on November 14, hosting Santa Clara for its final two matches of the fall season. The Wildcats will then turn their attention to the spring regular season, with the schedule expected to be announced shortly. An exciting slate of challenging match-ups awaits fans at Sitton Field beginning in January.
