September 15- Arizona has received some exciting news ahead of their preseason opener as EJ Freeman has been named a Collegiate All American for the 2023 season.

The standout center from Frankfurt, Germany adds the honor to his list of accomplishments, including a run with the USA U23s at last month's Rugbytown 7s where he helped them to the championship. Freeman also earned first-team All PAC-12 in 2023, helping lead an Arizona attack that once again topped 30 points/game and finished top ten in both fifteens and sevens.

"We are so incredibly proud of EJ, and those inside the building know how hard he works on the field, in the gym, and in his off time to better himself as a player. It's great to have him back in the side and serve as a model for our youngsters that want to follow in his footsteps one day" said Director of Rugby Sean Duffy.

Freeman is the first All American since Bronson Teles (2020) and joins a long line of Wildcats to earn the honor in the program's history.

"Earning All American means a lot to me. Since I was in Germany I have been dreaming of this, and this has motivated me to kick it up a notch and continue to play my best rugby. My goal is that by playing well there will be more eyes on Arizona so that there will be more All Americans next time around. We have some cats waiting to pounce" said Freeman.

The Wildcats have recently begun preparations for their 55th season, with Freeman amongst a large group of returners and a standout recruiting class that will look to take the next step in the program's progression. Arizona will release their schedule shortly.
