February 19- Arizona put their undefeated record to the test on Saturday, welcoming #4 Cal to Sitton Field. The Wildcats got started well early, working their way in to Cal territory only to come away with a turnover, but kept their pressure on, with Ryan Hudson's 60-meter intercept try the perfect response to the opening score to make it 7-5 Wildcats fifteen minutes in to the half. The back and forth game continued, with a 17-7 Cal lead narrowed down by a Tom Molloy grubber gathered by Wing Dante Weeks to make it 17-12 just before half. An Arizona yellow card capitalized on by the visitors made it 24-12 at the break.

The second half, despite solid performances by players such as Hudson and Lock Bronson Teles, went the way of the visitors, with a Tyler Hansen try closing the score but the Wildcats ultimately taking their first loss of the season. Head Coach Sean Duffy pointed to the positives but looked ahead to a possible matchup with Cal in the playoffs as motivation for the team. "We took a loss but we as a staff learned a lot about our team as you always do in losses like this. With D1A including the entire PAC Conference this year unlike in past years, we would love to get another crack at Cal and we know their guys like playing against us too in a showcase of the greatest conference in the country."

Arizona Second XV also took their first loss of the season, getting off to a great start but dropping the reserve grade match 47-23.

Both teams will look to bounce back this Saturday, with Arizona State traveling to Tucson for a showdown that will include the 49th Anniversary of Arizona Rugby.
