Aug 22- Arizona announced their 2019 preseason schedule today, with Fifteens and Sevens lined up to prepare for 2020.

The largest announcement on the Sevens front is the news that Stanford University will host the 2019 PAC Rugby Sevens Championship the second week of November. PAC-12 Network is expected to partner again with the conference showcase that the Wildcats hope to win back after finishing second last season. In other Sevens programming, the Wildcats will take a Freshmen-Sophomore side to San Luis Obispo before selecting a side that will return to the West Coast Sevens in San Francisco a fortnight later.

In addition to Sevens programming, the Wildcats' preseason features a number of challenging matches, culminating in Arizona Second XV's November trip to Texas. In addition the Wildcats Third XV will play a mixed side weekend in El Paso, Texas against UTEP and New Mexico State. "We're in a time in the game's history where we have a large program, and a real appreciation for the value of a match setting to evaluate players, combinations, and our structures" said Head Coach Sean Duffy. The Wildcats will hold a similar weekend in Albuquerque, New Mexico against the University of New Mexico and New Mexico Highlands University.

The Sevens and Fifteens player pools will combine at the end of November for the culmination of the preseason, the Red-Blue Game. In it's fifth season, the event has grown in to a festive end to the Fall and a tremendous partnership with the Humane Society of Southern Arizona. "Puppies and Rugby. Can't beat it" said Duffy.

Arizona's regular season schedule is set to be announced shortly, with an exciting cast of 2020 opponents lined up for the Wildcats' 51st season.
